Spring 2025 was a turning point for the $CROFAM community. In April the team launched $PRIDE, a new token that now powers the PRIDE NFTs, and by May it was whitelisted on VVS and competing in the VVS "Dream it, coin it" campaign.
Why $CROFAM became $PRIDE
On April 8, 2025, the team explained that it had run into a dispute over the "CroFam" name on X with crofam.com. According to the team, a claimed trademark issue led to the suspension of its X account and the temporary removal of its Dexscreener profile, and other accounts using the #CROFAM tag were affected too. To protect the project, the PRIDE NFTs and everything built so far, the team chose a new foundation:
- $PRIDE becomes the native token of the PRIDE NFTs, with airdrops for holders and staking planned.
- A $PRIDE / $CROFAM liquidity pool (5K at launch) lets $CROFAM holders keep benefiting from the growth of $PRIDE.
- The new X account is @PRIDEonCRO.
The team said it was not abandoning the $CROFAM spirit. A few days later, on April 17, it reported that projects with "CroFam" in their name had been removed from Dexscreener, and closed the topic to focus on building $PRIDE.
A fast start for $PRIDE
- April 15, 2025: the thepride.fun DApp went live with token staking and the roadmap, followed a day later by two new pools with higher APR and lock-up periods.
- April 18, 2025: 30M $PRIDE, 3% of the total supply, were burned, followed by another major burn on May 1.
- April 20, 2025: $PRIDE was selected for the VVS "Dream it, coin it" challenge.
- April 28, 2025: $PRIDE was whitelisted on VVS Finance.
In the VVS community vote
On May 14, 2025, VVS opened a community vote between four tokens that had reached campaign milestones, including $PRIDE (milestone 1). The top 3 were to receive $3,000 in VVS LP farm emissions over 60 days, a $1,000 CRO grant and a guaranteed VVS whitelisting.
